“In the February, 2020 I took part in the All-Russian competition ''Emergency Care" for medical students as one of the organizers. Together with my colleagues, we role-played a problematic medical case. It was about the abdominal form of myocardial infarction in a person with leg fracture. The students-participants had the chance to make the differential diagnosis and decide what to do first. Our actor-patient could only speak English, and the participants had to make the diagnosis, provide the treatment and reassure the patient in English. For some Russian students it was pretty difficult, but nevertheless they managed to reveal the problem and helped the patient. At the same time, many medical students spoke English perfectly and even joked while helping the patient. This contest demonstrated that that being medical student is not only about medication and medical procedures, it is also about communication! I was really excited to be a part of this event! If you ever have a chance to take part in such a contest, never hesitate and do it! ”
