Department of Pediatrics of the Institute of postgraduate education The Department is located in the Regional state budgetary health institution "Krasnoyarsk regional clinical center for maternal and child health" at the address 660074, Russia, Krasnoyarsk territory, Krasnoyarsk, str. Akademika Kirenskogo, 2 "A". Also, the apprentice training happens in the maternity hospitals and children's polyclinic No. 2 in Krasnoyarsk.

Structure

The Department staff includes 4 Doctors of Medical Science (two of them are professors) and 6 Candidates of Medical Science. All assistants and associate professors have a scientific degree. The Head of the Department is Doctor of Medical Science, Professor Tatiyana Evgenievna Taranushenko

The Head of the educational unit is Doctor of Medical Science, Prof. Emelyanchik Elena Yurievna. There are 4 associate professors: Candidate of Medical Science Makarets Boris Grigoryevich; Candidate of Medical Science Kiseleva Natalia Gennadievna; Candidate of Medical Science Panfilova Victoria Nikolaevna; Candidate of Medical Science Morgun Andrey Vasilyevich There are 4 assistants : Candidate of Medical Science Antsiferova Ekaterina Vladimirovna; Candidate of Medical Science Karpova Lyudmila Nikolaevna; Candidate of Medical Science Kustova Tatyana Vladimirovna, Candidate of Medical Science Pedanova Elena Alexandrovna.

Competencies

After their apprentice training the students at the Department of Pediatrics of the Institute of postgraduate education are ready to solve professional tasks in accordance with the types of professional activities and have universal (UC) and professional competencies (PC), as well as knowledge, skills and skills of a specialist doctor. UC-1 means readiness for abstract thinking, analysis, and synthesis. UC-2 means readiness to manage the team, to understand tolerantly social, ethnical, confessional and cultural differences.

UС-3 willingness to participate in teaching programmes of secondary and higher medical education or in teaching programmes of secondary and higher pharmaceutical education, plus additional professional programs for those with secondary vocational or higher according normative legal regulation in the sphere of healthcare.

PC-1 prevention of diseases among the population through preventive and anti-epidemic measures.

PC-2 holding preventive medical examinations, medical examination, medical supervision.

PC-3 prevention of diseases among the population through preventive and anti-epidemic measures.

PC-4 collection and medical and statistical analysis of information on the health indicators of the population of various age and gender groups that characterize their health status.

PC-5 diagnostics of diseases and pathological conditions of patients using propedeutic, laboratory, instrumental and other research methods.

PC-6 administration of specialized medical care; diagnostics of emergency conditions; participation in the provision of emergency medical care for conditions requiring urgent medical intervention.

PC-7 diagnostics of emergency conditions; participation in the provision of emergency medical care for conditions requiring urgent medical intervention.

PK-8 medical rehabilitation and spa treatment.

PC-9 formation of the population’s, patients’ and their families’ motivation to preserve and strengthen their health and the health of others.

PC-10 application of the basic principles of organization of medical care in medical organizations and their structural divisions.

PC-11 organization of medical examination.

PC-12 providing medical assistance in emergency situations, including participation in medical evacuation.

Main directions of scientific and educational activities

* Pediatrics (outpatient and inpatient levels),

* Pediatric endocrinology,

* Children's cardiology,

* Neonatology.

The Department provides the organization of the educational process apprentice training according to educational programs and curricula of specialties and master programs of postgraduate study at KrasSMU. The Department trains residents and retrains 300-400 pediatricians per year (including visiting cycles in medical institutions of the Krasnoyarsk territory, Khakassia, Yakutia, and the Republic of Tyva).

In recent years the Department has been involved in the national project "Health" with its training cycles for district pediatricians. The educational process for practitioners is carried out in accordance with modern requirements for evidence-based medicine teaching. Along with the daily training process, doctors attend regular meetings of the society of pediatricians, participate regional and interregional conferences, numerous round tables and symposiums. The Department participates in the implementation of the program of a continuous medical education. The staff performs a lot of medical and consulting work (more than 4,000 patients are supervised annually with the participation of professors and associate professors of the Department), provides significant methodological assistance to colleagues of the region. Clinical reviews, pathoanatomic conferences, numerous consultations of the most complex patients became a mandatory component of medical work.

The Department conducts active research and methodological work. The scientific work of the Department includes the publication of monographs, methodological and training manuals, participation in international, Russian, regional and city conferences.

Employees of the Department of Pediatrics IPO are curators (chairs and secretaries) Regional society of pediatricians, Regional society of pediatric endocrinologists, Regional society of neonatologists.

The Department is the contractor of the complex research plan "Scientific models and modern technologies in Pediatrics" reg. no. 01200906999. Within the framework of this complex plan, there are several scientific research studies:

  • "Assessment of health status and organization of dynamic monitoring of children of the first month of life in a city polyclinic". Performers: MD prof. Taranushenko T. E., full-time postgraduate student Akhmedova E.I.

* "Optimization of feeding of premature babies with very low body weight at the 2nd stage of nursing in a highly specialized hospital". Performers: MD prof. Taranushenko T. E., neonatologist Ovchinnikova T.V.

  • "Clinical and functional symptoms and molecular mechanisms of damage in newborns’ transient myocardial ischemia". Performers: MD prof. Emelyanchik E. U., doctor-neonatologist Wasemiller O. A.

* "Bacterial-purulent meningitis: clinical and laboratory characteristics, molecular mechanisms of impaired functioning of the blood-brain barrier". Performers: MD Morgun A.V. infectionist Boitsova E. B.

International cooperation

The Department takes an active part in the international activities of the University (it holds and organizes international conferences, seminars, student and faculty exchanges, joint research), as well as in the social life of KrasSMU.
